The People of Ebiraland have again been urged to shun any action that could breach the existing peace in the area.
Governor Yahaya Bello gave the advice today at the eight-day fidau prayer in honor of Yusuf Adabenege, who was recently murdered by unknown gunmen at Okene.t
Governor Bello who advised the people to remain calm in spite of the pain resulting from the death said Government would ensure that those who perpetrated the crime were brought to justice.
The Governor said the killing of Yusuf Adabenege was not political or religiously motivated, pointing out that it was purely an act of criminality meant to cause provocation among the different clans in Ebiraland.
Governor Bello who appealed to the people to shun rumour mongering urged them to embrace the principles of Yusuf which are hard work, peace, and love.
He promised that soon someone from the immediate family would be reappointed to serve as a representative in government.
On the empowerment programmes initiated by the deceased, the Governor assured members of the Community that the youth would be given more attention in respect of the good work left behind by the late Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism.
He thanked them for their peaceful disposition since the ugly incident happened, promising to bring more of government presence to the land in terms of provision of basic infrastructures to the area and enhanced security.
